Financial Controller (Part Time)

Employment Type: PermanentLocation: LancasterSalary: £45000 - £55000 per annum

Financial Controller (Part Time)

Based: Lancaster (1 day in the office, the rest remote)

Salary: highly dependent on experience, excellent benefits including enhanced pension, extra holidays, wellbeing events and more

Hours: Part Time circa 21 hours over 3, 4 or 5 days to suit the candidate. Flexible & hybrid working on offer

Our client are a leading educational business based in the heart of Lancaster. An award-winning company who are continuing to grow throughout the UK and overseas they are commercially focused with the aim to provide life changing opportunities across the globe. The business has grown substantially over the last few years, opening a brand new purpose built office to house their growing team who bring passion and energy to everything they do - a truly great place to work and make a difference

Role:

  • Leading the finance team whilst advising on financial strategy to the SLT and Directors
  • Develop and modernise systems and processes to optimise efficiencies within finance
  • Primary POC for all aspects of finance, funding, statutory retures and more
  • Responsible for completing monthly management accounts, annual statutory accounts, financial returns
  • Developing strong internal and external relationships with the SLT and key stakeholders
  • Preparing and presenting reports and financials/budgets to the board
  • Preparing groups annual forecasts and budgets, forecasting for corporate strategies to maximise finances
  • Assisting with future projects alongside Group CEO and wider finance
  • Monitoring income, managing cash flow and advising on future investment strategies, reporting to the Group CEO and SLT
  • Overseeing banking arrangements and relationships externally to support the group
  • Working with group auditors to ensure submission of regulatory reporting
  • Advising on effective purchasing and contracting products/services with regards to cost effectiveness
  • Support the wider business as they continue to grow assisting with international growth from a finance perspective

Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA (finalist considered)
  • Strong month end and accounting experience through tax, payroll, VAT, accounts
  • Experience developing finance strategies and delivering to board level desirable
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders, confident in your delivery essential
  • Experience working with the service/charity sector beneficial but not essential
