Financial Controller

Employment Type: PermanentLocation: ManchesterSalary: £50000 - £60000 per annum

A private equity backed Technology business are looking to appoint a Financial Controller. Reporting into the CFO you will lead the finance team in pro-actively supporting the financial management of the business whilst working with the leadership team to enable them to execute the company's growth ambitions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Produce monthly management accountants with appropriate analysis and commentary
  • Preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting on variances
  • Prepare and publish monthly financial statements
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance
  • Manage and execute the end-to-end audit process with external auditors
  • Oversee the day to day accounting operation including management of 2 finance team members, cash management, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger
  • Analyse financial data and improve KPI reporting to monitor progress and changes to enable you to keep the senior leadership team informed on the financial performance of the business
  • Assess and optimise financial processes and systems, ensuring they are aligned with business needs and fit for purpose as the business scales
  • Assist with the annual R&D tax rebate claim

Suitable candidates must be happy to get stuck into the day to day detail whilst also working closely with the CFO to really improve reporting and help shape the Finance function as the company continues to grow. You must be either qualified or working towards a qualification, be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role and have the ability to adapt to a fast paced entrepreneurial business.
