Financial Controller

Our client are a rapidly expanding Private Equity backed business in the retail industry. The company has received further investment to continue growth through their retail stores and e-commerce channels, forecasting 40% growth in the next 3 years, an exciting time to join them and a great opportunity to grow with the business

We are looking for a driven, hands on Financial Controller to join the business reporting into the Finance Director. This role will be overseeing the whole finance function from transactional finance, month end, VAT, controls and processes and managing a team of 5.

Role:

  • Overseeing finance team including setting targets and supporting wider business departments to create and maintain budgets
  • Overseeing all areas of finance including credit control, accounts payable, payroll and management accounts ensuring team meet monthly deadlines
  • Producing monthly financial management information pack
  • Budgeting planning and forecasting
  • Producing years statutory accounts
  • Managing corporate tax, PAYE, VAT returns
  • Partnering with department managers to discuss financial performance
  • Providing information to aid key strategic decision making, interpreting financial data
  • Implementing procedures, internal controls and risk management
  • Maintaining all finance systems, identifying areas that require improvements and implementing change

Experience:

  • Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CIMA
  • Experience in retail or e-commerce is highly desirable
  • Experience within an SME desirable but not essential
  • Hands on, ability to adapt to change and implement/streamline processes
  • Staff management experience
