Financial Controller

Financial Controller

Based: Swinton, Manchester

Salary: highly dependent on experience, excellent opportunities to progress to Finance Director

Our client is a European leading business who have expanded both organically and due to acquisitions over the last 10 years. Established 50 years ago, they are both the UK and European leader in their industry, providing services for thousands of customers throughout Europe each year with a combined turnover of around £20m. With ambitious growth plans throughout the next few years, we are looking for a Financial Controller to join as number 1 in finance, sitting in the senior management team and reporting to the CEO. This role will be strategically working with the board to assist with business growth over the next few years whilst leading and growing a small finance team.

Role:

  • Day to day management, appraisal and mentorship of a small accounting team
  • Presenting to the board month and year end analysis
  • Development of KPI's, MI and reporting tools
  • Involvement with any further acquisitions processes and due diligence involved
  • Managing VAT for all entities - ensuring regulations are met on each
  • Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts (Including P&L and Balance Sheet) along with related analysis and commentary
  • Budgeting and Forecasting, presenting regularly to board
  • Ensuring the integrity of financial controls and implementing new where necessary
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Liaison with external auditors & banks - responsible for all relationships
  • Ensuring robust financial controls, reviewing and implementing new
  • Liaising and working with key stakeholders including suppliers, customers and other departments/the board

Experience:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified
  • Entrepreneurial approach with the desire to progress
  • Proven track record of working in SME's
  • Experience of reviewing, implementing processes and procedures
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Pro-active with a drive to improve systems, processes and output to benefit business
  • Excellent communication skills with a forward thinking, pro-active attitude
