Financial Controller

Financial Controller

Based: Bolton

Salary: up to £100k + Bonus + benefits including enhanced pension, private healthcare for you and family and much more

Our client are an expanding, hugely successful manufacturing business based in the heart of Bolton. With turnover sitting around £200m, the business are looking to continue growing with multi-million investment into a brand new manufacturing site opening next year to add to their current manufacturing facilities and allow for further production to provide to their customers

This role will be a succession plan for the current FC/FD who is looking to retire over the next couple of years, a fantastic opportunity to join the business with a great mentor. This role reports directly into the Managing Director and will take a lead on all finance for the business including leading the finance team of 10.

We are looking for a proven Financial Controller with strong experience in Manufacturing OR FMCG (essential)

Role:

  • Responsible for all statutory audit, statutory accounts and year end tax production
  • Reviewing monthly management accounts, leading on month close within SAP ensuring reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Responsible for overseeing finance team of 10 including qualified and transactional staff
  • Fixed asset control and reporting, all statutory reporting to companies house
  • Building effective relationships with the board, participating in senior management team meetings
  • Overseeing purchase ledger, credit control, bank and cash processes and teams and ensuring their continuous training & development
  • Working with the Managing Director on business growth from a finance perspective, ensuring processes and procedures adhered to
  • Controlling all financial reporting ensuring highest quality standards
  • Continuously seeking out, managing and influencing opportunities for continuous improvement and change through the finance department and wider business

Experience:

  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified with 10+ years post qualified experience
  • Experience within manufacturing/food manufacturing/FMCG essential
  • Proven experience leading and developing a finance team
  • Technical finance experience essential - audit lead, stat accounts/reporting, balance sheet, financial control
  • SAP experience desirable but not essential
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and a true problem solving mentality
