Financial Controller

Financial Controller

Based: Manchester area

Salary: up to £70k, excellent benefits and exciting opportunity in a growing business.

Hybrid working (1-2 days office per week) and flexible hours

Our client is a UK leading, rapidly expanding PE backed services business. Owned by a larger group, they have plans to double business turnover in the next 3 years through organic growth and acquisitions. This is an excellent role for someone currently in a Financial Controller role OR looking to make their first move that that position, the business prides themselves on internal opportunities with plenty of chance to grow within the wider finance team along the way

This role will report directly to the Group FD, looking after a large subsidiary and managing all finances day to day. This role will be heavily focused on growing control environment and building new processes/controls whilst working with the wider finance team to implement across the group

Role:

  • Taking full accountability for statutory financial reporting and all financial planning duties
  • Management of day to day finance team including development and recruitment (2 staff)
  • Month end management accounts and month end reporting
  • Implementing and managing financial controls & risk
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Reporting & financial analysis for growth
  • Liaising internally with key stakeholders both finance and non-finance
  • Business partnering internally, working with Managers and Directors to drive business forward
  • Completing monthly financial results and leading on the completion of audits
  • Balance sheet control and reconciliations, managing all banking activities and payments to suppliers/distributors
  • Ensuring controls are in place across finance operations, working with wider team to implement
  • Supporting management of external relationships including auditors, banks, accountants
  • Working with the FD on future M&A activity

Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Experience working within a fast-moving, rapidly expanding business ideally within a group structure
  • Experience of running/developing controls within a business - proven experience required
  • Strong and current finance knowledge UKGAAP, IFRS, Tax, VAT)
  • Strong eye for detail, able to adapt to a growing business
