Financial Controller

Financial Controller - Manufacturing

South Manchester based - Hybrid working available once embedded into the business

Salary - circa £65k + 15% bonus

My client are a leading UK based Manufacturing organisation with significant International presence operating across 40 different countries worldwide.

Due to significant growth, the business are looking to secure an experienced Financial Controller. Reporting into the Finance Director and managing the AR and AP functions. You will be expected to lead from the front and to ensure the organisation's financial activities are planned, communicated, monitored and controlled in order to make effective use of of the financial resources and meet financial obligations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the organisation’s financial activities are planned, communicated, monitored and controlled in order to make effective use of financial resources, meet the organisation’s aims and goals and fulfil statutory obligations
  • To ensure that management throughout the business is provided with timely financial statements and analysis that enables them to monitor and control expenditure in their department or area of responsibility
  • Leadership of the finance team - lead and direct the UK and Ireland Financial Control Team
  • Ensure that the company's financial procedures and systems comply with Group guidelines as well as making sure all financial transactions and reconciliation controls are accurate
  • Forecast, monitor and manage the Company's cash flow and working capital, particularly debtors, creditors & inventory - Ensure accurate and on time completion of the month end close
  • SOX - control and maintain all SOX processes, updating the register, performing testing, quarterly reporting and ensuring adherence in all areas of finance.

This is a hands on FC position and requires someone with demonstrable controllership exposure that will enable them to hit the ground running;

  • Deliver forecasts and budgets including payroll, cash, forex and fixed assets depreciation
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of all tax and insurances including VAT, PSA and corporation tax
  • Forecast and advise on cash flow and currency requirements to minimise charges and risk
  • Ensure the approval matrix and purchasing policies are maintained correctly and issues monthly
  • Responsible for the Audit process throughout the business area

What does the successful candidate look like?

  • Qualified (CIMA / ACA / ACCA) with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience
  • Commercial experience ideally within manufacturing however, other industry backgrounds will be considered for the role
  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent reporting skill set
  • Leadership ability - demonstrable experience of managing a team in previous roles
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and ever changing environment
