My client is a large, successful group of companies, and are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join their team, in a newly created role, reporting into the Finance Director. This company have had significant growth in the last few years and have won multiple new contracts resulting in fast growth with more acquisitions to come!

As Financial Accountant, you will be involved in producing the monthly consolidated management accounts, supporting the audit & tax reporting and forecasting requirements across the business, this role shall also assist in future acquisition processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) who is looking for their first move to industry. You must have strong technical accounting knowledge; experience of preparing tax forecasts & returns, preparing financial statements, excellent knowledge of UK GAAP & IFRS and have experience reviewing and implementing financial controls/procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that accounting practices comply with the relevant accounting standards
  • Develop robust processes and controls to ensure risks are managed appropriately in line with Group requirements
  • Ensure that financial reporting for the group is accurate, complete and meets the tight deadline of the third working day.
  • Be the technical point of contact for accounting queries across the Group
  • Production of the monthly consolidated management accounts
  • Preparation of Group board report
  • To assist in the Identification and implementation of process improvements.
  • Responsible for reporting key risks for the Finance and Credit Control department
  • Perform regular balance sheet reviews
  • Preparation of the financial statements and liaison with the auditors
  • Preparation of tax forecasts and returns, provision of information to the tax auditors to facilitate the production of the year-end tax computations
  • Assist in the completion of statutory returns
