Finance Manager

Finance Manager

Based: Blackburn

Salary: highly dependent on experience. 25 days + stats, free parking, onsite gym & personal trainer, flexible working hours and 2pm finish on a Friday

Our client is a leading business based in Blackburn. Turnover has doubled in the last 4 years and they are continuing to grow working on large-scale energy/construction projects throughout the UK to measure, manage and reduce energy consumption and cut carbon emissions. With generations of expertise they are market leaders in their industry, developing leading products and services that will support the governments net zero carbon project over the next few years

An exciting time to join the business, we are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the transactional finance team and working closely with the Group Financial Controller to assist with continued business growth

Role:

  • Supervising and co-ordinating the production of financial data for the business in terms of reporting, planning and controls
  • Direct management for a team of 3 (Team Leaders) including training & recruitment
  • Reviewing and reporting monthly financial results to the board including variance reporting
  • Producing monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts for cost centres and departments including overheads
  • Preparing budgets including variance reports to current financial year
  • Producing accrual and pre-payment schedules and manage general ledger balances
  • Liaising internally with department managers and senior stakeholders
  • Assisting Group Financial Controller in the development and implementation of new processes and policies focusing on continued improvement to meet business demands
  • Develop and update consolidated cash flow model, assisting with effective cash flow management
  • Producing statutory VAT returns, ensuring Intrastat and CIS returns are submitted and paid on time to HMRC
  • Providing effective financial control over overhead cost items and stock of materials
  • Producing balance sheet reconciliation monthly for all balance sheet accounts
  • Preparing information for, and liaising with external auditors ready for annual audit
  • Implementing new accounting procedures - focusing on change and improving efficiencies across finance where possible including a new P2P scanning solution
  • Implementing new KPI performance measures around the group for financial accounts
  • Assisting with future projects including new system upgrades, implementations and changes

Experience:

  • CIMA/ACCA qualified highly desirable. QBE will be considered with industry experience
  • Construction experience and knowledge of CIS rules and regulations highly desirable
  • Proven experience of leading, developing and managing a finance team
  • Strong stakeholder and financial accounting experience essential
  • Microsoft Dynamics and strong excel skills highly desirable
