Finance Manager

Based: Wythenshaw - hybrid working

Salary: up to £60k + bonus + benefits + progression

My client are a rapidly expanding, fast paced SME who have experienced exponential growth over the last few years and continue to do so on the next phase of their growth plans forecasting 70% growth in 2023. Having made 8 acquisitions in the last 3 years and just receiving investment to continue with their robust M&A strategy, this is a really exciting opportunity for someone to come in to a role that can offer wide-ranging finance & business exposure under a strong mentor.

This role will sit as number 2 to the FD with exposure to the MD. Role will take full responsibility for business finances whilst being involved with M&A activity, projects including new system and process upgrades and much more.

We are looking for a qualified Accountant with experience working in an SME environment (sub £20m TO) who is keen to work in a hands on environment and add value from day 1. We are looking for someone with experience/ability to manage large datasets and be forward thinking in their approach to process improvements and streamlining.

Role:

  • Full responsibility of the day to day operations of finance
  • Monthly Management Accounts production and MI pack for Directors
  • Provision of financial forecasts and monitoring financial performance
  • Provision of monthly Board pack
  • Cash flow forecasting
  • Tax compliances including VAT, PAYE and Corporation tax
  • Process and manage Payroll
  • Management of pensions and benefits ensuring pension legislation compliances.
  • Support with the analysis of potential acquisition
  • Financial Due Diligence on acquisitions
  • Support post acquisition implementation and amalgamation
  • Identify efficiencies and process improvements
  • Line manager of finance team - current 1 direct report (team will grow)

Experience:

  • Fully qualified Chartered Accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience in SME finance team OR accounts/audit firm
  • The ability to prioritise and organise workload
  • Good working knowledge of excel
  • Enjoys a fast-paced environment
  • All rounder - willing get into the detail
  • Strong data knowledge and capability
