Based: East Manchester (Ashton/Droylsden area)

Salary: circa £85-95k + bonus + benefits

Please note this role is based mostly on-site (some flex when required), you must be commutable of the East Manchester area

I am exclusively working with a fantastic, family owned private business based in North East Manager. A UK leader in their industry and major players in a 2nd industry they launched in 20 years ago which huge scope both UK and internationally for growth. Currently with a turnover of circa £50m, there is substantial anticipated growth for the future with this role being instrumental from a number 1 in finance role, working closely with the MD and senior management team

We are looking for a commercially astute, confident and capable Finance Director to join the business as number 1 in finance. With the support of a qualified Financial Controller this position will be focused on strategy, operating on the SLT and driving business growth from a finance perspective whilst overseeing daily finance duties

Role:

  • Contributing towards commercial strategies of business relating to growth, ROI, identifying new opportunities and ensuring smooth running of finance function
  • Working closely with the MD to achieve and plan all financial and operational objectives
  • Managing and leading accounts function including transactional finance and all month end/quarter end/year end requirements
  • FX management and strategies, ensuring best exchange rates for products and services
  • Implementing annual financial budgets, preparing audit files and liaising with auditors
  • Creating monthly reporting packs for presentation to monthly management meetings
  • Approval and monitoring of capital expenditure programmes
  • Liaising with and leading on relationships with all 3rd parties - banks, property advisors, pension fund trustees, local authorities and insurers
  • Providing reports and analysis on customer trading agreements and account performance analysis
  • Business partnering with department heads to review projects, presentations and more
  • Reviewing, updating and maintaining effective systems and internal controls throughout the company
  • Ensuring full compliance with all statutory reporting legislation and responsible corporate governance

Experience:

  • ACCA/ACA qualified Accountant with at least 5 year PQE (practice experience desired)
  • Proven commercial experience and exposure within a growing SME
  • Proven experience as number 1 in finance, working alongside board/SLT/MD/CEO as number 1 in finance
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills - able to interpret data
  • Forward thinking, delivering information regarding scenarios in advance
  • Highly IT literate, Navision experience desirable but not essential
