Finance Assistant

Employment Type: PermanentLocation: SalfordSalary: £22000 - £24000 per annum


Finance Assistant- 12 month fixed term contract
Location: Salford
Salary: circa £22,000

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join an exciting, growing business based in Salford. This is initially a 12 month interim contract, however there may be longer term opportunities for the right candidate, due to the continued growth of the business.

This role provides exposure to key transactional areas that ensure a solid grounding for any aspiring finance professional.

You will become a key member of the Finance & Administration team; key responsibilities will include:

  • Ownership of company debt collection process - including but not limited to credit control, query resolution & aged debt analysis
  • Customer & supplier query resolution via telephone and email
  • Sales & Purchase invoice processing
  • Bank postings and reconciliations
  • Credit check new customers & suppliers
  • Provide support to purchasing manager
  • Support with the preparation of the management accounts
  • Adhoc duties that may be deemed appropriate to this role


Must Have Skills/ knowledge:

  • Good communication and listening skills
  • Good organisational skills when planning own work
  • Calm and professional disposition
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
  • Able to work in a busy office environment that often demands high levels of concentration and respond effectively to changing priorities
  • Able to manage high volume workload and work effectively with minimal management guidance/supervision
  • Critical thinking and good analytical skills
  • Accounting processes and procedures
  • Good knowledge of IT Literacy and accounting software


This position would suit somebody with a couple of years accounting experience, who is looking for further development and exposure.
