Credit Controller

Salary: £24,000 - £25,000

Job Type: Permanent (FLEXIBLE WORKING HOURS AVAILABLE)

Hours: 37.5 per week: Monday - Friday 9am-5:30pm

We are currently recruiting for a Credit Controller to join one of our clients based in Manchester City Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for a results driven individual to progress their career and gain exposure to well-known international corporations by working in a multi-million pound business.

No qualifications are required for this role, being highly focused on personality and background. An ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years in a similar role and will have a proactive approach to their work. There is also the opportunity for hybrid working, with 3 days a week working from home.

This role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will have proven experience applying credit and collections to ensure consistent debt management and cash performance. Experience within insurance would be ideal, but it is crucial to demonstrate previous success at reducing aged debts alongside excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pro-active Credit Control to be completed via, telephone, email, video conferencing or face-to-face meetings
  • Raise credits notes & sales invoices
  • Carry out cash allocation
  • Proactively contacting clients and internal contacts for prompt collection or resolution of aged debt
  • Driving cash flow and debtor day targets by strong portfolio management and relationship building,
  • Working with relevant clients to achieve the firm's KPI's, and resolving customer receivable issues / disputes / claims with revenue control teams
  • Review customer accounts & complete customer account reconciliations
  • Ad-hoc reporting (weekly/month end) - including aged debt analysis
  • Ensure cross functional support when required & contribute to continuous improvement within your role and wider team

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years' credit control experience
  • Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot Tables & Look Ups)
  • Problem solver (error detection, correction, and analysis)
  • Strong analytic and numeric skills to deal with large volumes of data
  • Able to prioritise workload, demonstrate flexibility & efficient time management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident and independent with a down to earth can-do approach
  • Able to work effectively in a team
