Commercial Finance Manager

Based: East Lancashire area

Salary: highly dependent on experience, excellent benefits including enhanced pension, flexible & hybrid working and 1pm finish on a Friday!

Our client are a global market leading, manufacturing business based in East Lancashire. A fantastic employer with a team of established staff throughout the business, we are looking for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to join the team due to internal progression. This role will encompass supporting the business in driving operational performance through strategic project support whilst managing the team in the UK finance function.

  • Managing a team of 4 staff with 3 qualified members including objectives setting, appraisals, 1-1s and training/development
  • Co-ordinating key processes and timeline for P&L, month end, reporting, forecasting and budgeting
  • Co-ordinating requirements from group to ensure alignment
  • Reviewing and owning site P&L - presenting to FD at month end and wider Directors
  • Business partnering with Operations Leaders to drive improved site performance
  • Developing, creating and reviewing Site Business KPI measures across finance
  • Driving improvement through key processes on site including various reviews
  • Presenting monthly results and supporting senior Business Partner with running of on-site Directors meetings
  • Project lead on numerous projects including overheads, transformations, pricing review and improvement of costs across the site
  • Timely closure of Balance sheet actions including balance sheet reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial statements
  • Review and validation of annual costing and stock valuation
  • Involvement in numerous projects including cost allocation models, headcount/labour costings and driving improvement through operations
  • Contributing to continuous improvement and development of processes and systems on site

Experience:

  • Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis exposure essential
  • Commercial finance/business partnering experience essential
  • SAP experience would be highly beneficial
  • Proven experience of leading a team and excellent communication skills
  • Experience within a global business would be desirable but not essential
