Commercial Accountant
Location: South Manchester- with hybrid working
Salary: circa £60,000- £65,000
Having experienced rapid growth over the last 5 years and with further growth plans on the horizon, following an exciting acquisition, our client is looking for a qualified Commercial Accountant to join the team.
Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will be a key finance business partner helping to drive and support the business into its next stages of growth. The role will require impressive strategic, analytical and reporting skills to support all functions, with specific focus on the Commercial & Operations teams. The role will engage multiple stakeholders and improve decision support, reporting and identifying opportunities and mitigating risks.
Duties & responsibilities include:
- Reporting and analysis of business performance and profitability
- Proactively challenge key stakeholders within the business to drive growth of both Net Sales and Gross Margin
- Key business partner for the Commercial teams and wider functions and support other markets when relevant
- Design and build improved financial models and reports to allow greater strategic insight and decision support
- Development of KPI's and dashboards
- Support the weekly flash, forecasting and budgeting cycles
- Input into the monthly management accounts pack
- Working closely with IT to validate and support the transition of reports into Power BI
- Support the Head of Commercial Finance, FD and wider Finance team with ad hoc analysis where necessary
Knowledge/ skills/ experience:
- Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ ACA/ ACCA)
- Significant track record in financial analysis and reporting
- Experience of business partnering in fast moving environment
- Proven ability to manage a number of stakeholders and delivering real value
- Experience of financial modelling to improve reporting
- Analytical & results focused
- Intellectually astute with strong commercial acumen
