Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Buyerto join their Purchasing Team on a 12 month FTC.

An award winning, family run business, my client is hugely committed to its people and now seek an enthusiastic and accomplished Buyer to join their team on a 12 month contract.

Willing to support the successful candidate with their personal and professional development, my client is hugely supportive of ongoing training and would be willing to offer support towards an MCIPS qualification?

The successful candidate will be an expert in communication and know how to work well as part of a team. Leading by example, your work ethic will set the bar high and you'll be as interesting and exciting as the products they produce.

As a Buyer your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking on specific projects in sourcing and commercial negotiation to ensure that the company gets the best value for money in the goods and services it buys.
  • Supporting the Purchasing Manager by researching specific supply markets to understand their impact on purchasing strategies.
  • Maintaining a record of all contracts and assisting in compiling a sourcing plan.
  • Monitoring the cost savings performance of the Purchasing Department.
  • Maintaining good communication with all internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the sourcing of products to meet customer demands.
  • Maintaining an efficient and professional purchasing team.
  • Ensuring all purchase orders are placed promptly with the most cost-effective supplier.
  • Identifying and capitalising on opportunities to increase company profits through more efficient buying.

Essential requirements:

  • At least 12 months procurement experience (Graduate Business Experience will be considered).
  • Bright, energetic and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal, analytic, Influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Ability to multitask and to have a "can do" attitude.
  • Ability to work alone but to also be part of a larger team.
  • IT literate - intermediate Excel skills.

Desirables:

  • Experience within the hospitality/drinks industry
  • CIPS qualification would be advantageous or studying towards
