Banking Team Leader

Salary: £27,000 - £31,000 (with AAT Study Support)

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm OR 10am-6:30pm (Flexible Working Hours)

We are currently recruiting for a Banking Team Leader to join one of our clients based in Alderley Edge. This role will require the relevant individual to provide crucial financial support to the business by managing & leading the Banking Team to ensure all day-to-day & month-end banking transactions are accounted for accurately and in a timely manner.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a leader & results driven individual to progress their finance career and gain exposure to well-known international businesses. No qualifications are required for this role, being highly focused on excellent work ethic, attention to detail, leadership and the willingness to persevere. An ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a Banking role and will either have experience of managing a team, or is aspiring to be a leader. Hybrid working, flexible hours & study support is also on offer with this role.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Managing the Banking Team and all the associated processes
  • Ensuring bank postings for all bank accounts for circa 150 companies are processed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensuring credit cards are all posted accurately and fully reconciled to statements
  • Reviewing and implementing best practice controls and processes for all aspects of the banking responsibilities
  • Ensuring all bank accounts are reconciled daily/weekly as required
  • Ensuring bank payments are made on time and accurately
  • Dealing with payment/bank accounts queries
  • Ensuring quarterly investor return bank payments are processed accurately
  • Implementing and monitoring KPI reporting for the team
  • Perform all relevant management/HR related procedures for all direct reports (e.g., 1 to 1s, holiday management, allocation of tasks, HR related training, performance management, appraisals, development plans etc)
  • Providing information and support to other departments in the business, as required

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar & high volume, fast-paced role
  • Experience working with multiple banks
  • Intermediate Excel skills & knowledge of working on a finance system
  • Be able to challenge existing processes, suggest improvements & implement new controls/processes
  • Problem solver (error detection, correction, and analysis)
  • Sage 50 or Sage 200 knowledge (desirable)
  • Property/construction business knowledge (desirable)
  • Part qualified or AAT qualified (desirable)
  • Previous management experience (desirable)
  • Strong analytic and numeric skills to deal with large volumes of data
  • Able to prioritise workload, demonstrate flexibility & efficient time management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confident and independent with a down to earth can-do approach
  • Able to work effectively in a team
