Assistant Accountant

Our client is a successful and forward-thinking business based in Blackburn, who are looking for an Assistant Accountant on a 12 Month FTC to cover a period of maternity.

The ideal candidate will be someone with experience in transactional accounts for purchase and sales ledger transactions who has eagerness to learn and develop other aspects of finance. Hybrid working will be available after completion of training.

Your main roles and responsibilities:
Reporting directly into the finance manager, your role as an Assistant Accountant will include:

  • Management of end to end sales and debtors ledgers
  • Timely and effective management of customer receipts
  • Maintaining good relationships with key customers and suppliers
  • Negotiating payment plants
  • Weekly cash projections and targets
  • Raising bank transfers in multi currencies
  • Preparing and posting invoices for finance transactions
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Revenue recognition, monthly rebate calculations and adjustments

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum experience of 2 years in ledger transactions
  • Friendly personality and strong communication skills, able to build relationships with internal staff and stakeholders
  • Passionate about working as part of a team in a fast paced environment
  • Experience dealing with multi currencies
  • SAP experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Intermediate excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
