Account Manager - Football Impact and Social Value

Employment Type: PermanentLocation: ManchesterSalary: £25000 - £40000 per annum + Benefits


A successful research & technology SME based in Manchester are seeking an Account Manager (Football impact and Social Value) to join their team on a permanent basis, paying £25,000- £40,000 (dependant on experience on level). This role will be home-based, so you can be based from anywhere in the UK, and is a fantastic opportunity to further grow your career within an Account Management capacity, working with exciting sporting organisations both in the UK and internationally.
The purpose of this role is to further develop and nurture the relationship with a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business for existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities in the growing market for the assessment of sports social impact and value. Please see below an overview of your key responsibilities:

  • Working on exciting projects, including management of the organisations social valuing models for UEFA
  • Working closely with customers, building relationships and monitoring projects, including updating customers on the progress of their projects and reports
  • Networking within the market to further develop the portfolio of clients
  • Working with the Account Director & Chief Executive to create effective workplans for individual projects, ensuring all objectives are clear and achievable
  • Liaising with any subcontractors involved in the projects
  • Coordinating travel arrangements
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Promotion and marketing of core social impact and valuing products and services
  • Production and presentation of engaging reports
  • Providing the highest levels of customer services


The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven experience working within Account Management, Business Development, Relationship Management or Programme Management
  • Experience working within the sports industry within a similar capacity
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A commercial mindset, with the ability to negotiate and engage with customers
  • Able to work autonomously - the ability to use your own initiative
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Desirable - data collection experience, economic assessment or social valuing experience, knowledge and interest in football
