Account Manager

My client, one of the UK's leading manufacturers are looking to recruit an Account Manager, this is a newly created position reporting into the Commercial Manager. This role is not just about generating sales; it's about creating meaningful, lasting relationships by deeply understanding their client's needs, including the full lifecycle of their products and their environmental goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Proactively managing a portfolio of existing accounts, largely well know and respected brands ensuring that every interaction is personalised, and every enquiry is addressed promptly, with expertise and care
  • Ensure that all contractual agreements are fulfilled, and that every order is accurately processed and delivered on time
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities that align with their clients' evolving needs
  • Facilitate regular client review meetings to discuss performance, address concerns, and explore new opportunities for collaboration
  • Prepare and manage client KPI/SLA dashboards, ensuring transparency and accountability in performance metrics
  • Responsible for handling incoming referrals, guiding prospective clients through the process from initial contact to becoming loyal customers
  • Presenting, negotiating, and quoting bespoke products
  • Maintain and manage a pipeline of prospective clients
  • Complete client tenders ensuring all requirements are met and proposals are competitive
  • Attend monthly target meetings with the Commercial Manager to review past performance against budget, set future budget target, and discuss market trends and buying behaviours
  • Advise clients on sustainable packaging solutions that align with their environmental goals and the full lifecycle of their products

Suitable candidates must have experience of working in B2B account management specifically in a manufacturing and/or product sector as opposed to service, be competent using CRM's and be able to demonstrate a proven track record in negotiating terms, pricing and contracts with both existing and new customers.
